A man accused of the manslaughter of his partner and her daughter, who died after falling ill on a Lake District boat, has appeared before magistrates.

Kelly Webster, 36, and Lauren Thornton, 10, of Leyland, Lancashire, were killed by generator fumes on the vessel on Windermere in April 2013.

Matthew Eteson, 41 from Leyland, entered no plea to a charge of manslaughter by gross negligence.

He was bailed to appear before Carlisle Crown Court on 7 July.
