Castle Howe M6 motorway closure warning for drivers

Work to improve a stretch of the M6 motorway in Cumbria will mean a month-long closure of the third lane, the Highways Agency has warned.

The £450,000 scheme is being carried out near Castle Howe bridge to modify the central reservation.

A 24-hour closure of the third lane of the motorway will be in place in both directions, with some overnight closures of the southbound second lane.

The agency said the work will make future maintenance "safer and easier".

Work is expected to be completed by 13 October.
