Josh Wilson crash death: Family pride at organ pledge

The family of a Cumbrian motorcycle crash victim have spoken of their pride after his organs were donated to help save the lives of others.

Joshua Wilson died in hospital after coming off his bike on the A596 at Heathfield, Aspatria, on Thursday.

The 18-year-old pub worker from Aspatria, was about to start an engineering course at Carlisle College.

His family said they were "very proud" that others had been helped as a result of his "tragic death".

In a statement released by Cumbria Police, Mr Wilson's family described him as being single minded, level headed and very practical.

The statement added: "We are very proud of the fact that Josh was keen to be an organ donor and it has brought a great deal of comfort knowing that he's managed to help so many as a result of his tragic death.

"Josh will be dearly missed by all his family and friends."

A police investigation into the crash is continuing.
