Scott Gibson death: Cumbria Police officer denies careless driving

A police officer has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a motorcyclist by careless driving.

Scott Gibson, 23, of Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, died in a collision with a police van on the A590 between Melton and Lindal on 4 April.

Patsy Blakeborough, of Tamar Gardens, Walney, denied the charge at Carlisle Magistrates' Court. She was granted unconditional bail.

The 40-year-old will appear before Carlisle Crown Court on 16 March.
