Kendal industrial estate fire blazes for 14 hours
A fire blazed for 14 hours at an industrial estate as 60 firefighters battled to bring it under control.
The blaze broke out at a building on Kendal Industrial Estate in Mintsfeet Road at about 20:15 GMT on Saturday.
Dozens of nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution due to a risk of gas cylinders exploding.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said the site was still being dampened down on Sunday lunchtime. No-one was injured.
Four businesses are thought to have been badly damaged in the blaze.
Cumbria Police said the A6 was closed between the A685 junction and the Mintsfeet Road junction. Diversions were in place via Appleby Road.
