A woman has died after falling from a rock face in Cumbria's Lake District.

She was walking on Angler's Crag at Ennerdale on Saturday lunchtime when she fell about 60ft (18m), Cockermouth Mountain Rescue said.

The woman, from Bolton, was seriously injured and treated at the scene by mountain rescue doctors and an air ambulance doctor and paramedic.

She was winched into a helicopter from RAF Valley and flown to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle, where she died.
