Firefighters tackle Sandiacre foundry fire


Dozens of firefighters have been tackling a fire which broke out at a Derbyshire foundry.

Fire and rescue crews were called to Balfour Beatty Rail Track Systems on Osmaston Street at Sandiacre around 1630 BST on Monday.

Appliances from Nottinghamshire were also sent to the scene.

There were reports of plumes of smoke drifting over the M1 motorway and A52. A fire spokesman said there were no reports of any injuries.

Fire crews were damping down at the scene on Monday night.
