Police in Glossop target speeding motorists

Police say motorists who exceed the speed limit along a road in Derbyshire are putting people's safety at risk.

People living on Sheffield Road in Glossop have told police they are worried about speeding drivers.

A crackdown by Community Speed Watch volunteers on Friday found 12 motorists exceeded the speed limit in just one hour, police said.

The drivers were warned if they were caught breaking the speed limit again then they would face a fine.

PCSO Tracey Collins said: "With the help of the local community, we are able to get the message across to motorists that they have a responsibility to respect and stay within the speed limits across the area."
