Fatal M1 motorbike crash woman named

A woman who died after a motorbike crash near junction 25 of the M1 has been named.

Pinky Sarah Ward, 30, from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, was the pillion passenger on the bike when it crashed on Saturday morning.

She was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre by air ambulance but died shortly afterwards.

The motorway was closed between junctions 24 and 25 for several hours causing tailbacks to junction 26.

A 33-year-old man also injured in the crash has been released from hospital.

Police said they did not believe any other vehicles were involved.
