Man charged with Derby street stabbing murder remanded

A man charged with the murder of a 34-year-old Derby man has been remanded into custody until a further court appearance.

Royston Whittle, 38, of no fixed abode, is accused of stabbing Lee Samra on a Derby street on Monday.

At Derby Magistrates Court, Mr Whittle was told to appear before Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday.

Police said the weapon used, described as a small knife, had still not been found and appealed for information.
