Suspended Derby City Council education chief resigns

A senior officer at Derby City Council has resigned from her post following an investigation.

Ros Vahey was suspended from her job as strategic director of children and young people after unspecified allegations made against her.

The council declined to reveal the details surrounding her departure.

It said in a statement: "Allegations against Ros Vahey are closed, and the differences between the parties have been resolved."

It added: "However, having reflected on the matter further, Ros has decided that it is in everyone's best interests for her to make a fresh start elsewhere."
