Arrested Barnsley player Nathan Doyle faces no action

A former England under-20 footballer arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine will not face any charges, police have confirmed.

Nathan Doyle, 23, who plays for Championship team Barnsley, was stopped with two other men by police on Osmaston Road, Derby, on 20 September.

Officers searched an Audi and found a substance which they believed to be the class A drug.

But police have now said none of the three will face any action.

Mr Doyle, who also played for Derby County, was permanently signed to Barnsley earlier this year after leaving Hull City in 2009 on loan.
