Derbyshire hit by road and school closures over snow

Roads and schools in Derbyshire, especially in the Peak District, remain closed due to snowy and icy conditions.

More than 200 schools are closed in the county due to poor weather conditions.

The A57 Snake Pass is closed in both directions between the Hurst Road junction in Glossop and the A6013 junction in Ladybower Reservoir.

Hazardous driving conditions have been reported the A515 in both directions between the A52 junction in Ashbourne and the A53 junction in Buxton.

The Avenue in Stoney Middleton on the A623 is closed in both directions around The Bank junction and the A54 is closed between Bosley Crossroads in Bosley and the A537 junction in Buxton, because of snow.

There are also hazardous driving conditions on A617 in both directions between the M1 junction 29 in Heath and Mansfield because of ice and snow.
