Man charged over stabbing in Mackworth

A 33-year-old man was found with several stab wounds

A 21-year-old man has been charged with wounding in connection with a stabbing attack on a Derbyshire man.

A 33-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds on Brackensdale Avenue in Mackworth in the early hours of Saturday.

He was taken to Royal Derby Hospital for treatment but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The man is due to appear before Derby and South Derbyshire Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Another man was arrested over the incident on Monday and later released on bail pending further inquiries.

A spokeswoman from Derbyshire Police said patrols had been stepped up in Mackworth after the incident.
