A major Derbyshire road was closed for several hours after a lorry caught fire in the early hours.

The A38 was shut in both directions at Coxbench at about 0430 GMT but the southbound carriageway re-opened before 0800 GMT.

The northbound closure, between the A61 and the A610 junctions, was re-opened at about 1500 GMT.

A diversion route was in place and the incident caused major tailbacks

Fire crews from the surrounding areas attended the accident, but no one was injured.
