Further witness appeal over fatal Derbyshire crash

Police in Derbyshire have made a further appeal for witnesses to a fatal road collision, a week after the crash.

Dominic Yates, 19, from Chesterfield, was killed when his Citroen AX was in collision with an Audi on the A619 Chandler Hill on 22 December.

Sgt Jim Allen, from Derbyshire Police's collision investigation unit, said no eyewitnesses to the crash had come forward.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact police.

"Dominic was killed travelling on a busy road at a busy time of day (1755 GMT)," said Sgt Allen.

"I know there were other vehicles close to the scene of the crash at the time.

"The Audi vehicle was travelling in the second lane of the road travelling uphill passing vehicles to its nearside and I believe Dominic was following another vehicle down the hill.

"I need to speak to those drivers to understand why the crash happened. Every day that goes by without a clear understanding of what happened makes it harder and harder for Dominic's family to come to terms with the tragic loss of their loved one."
