Derbyshire residents warned about rogue traders

Derbyshire Police are warning residents to be on their guard against traders who use aggressive selling methods.

Insp Russ Dakin said following recent bad weather it was possible unreliable workmen would call at homes offering to make repairs.

"Our advice is that you should always get three quotes for any work and never agree a deal on the doorstep," he said.

Cold-callers who charge high rates or use distraction methods can "bring despair and misery" to people, he said.
