Masked robbers steal shotguns from house near Ilkeston

Masked intruders stole two shotguns from a house in rural Derbyshire after threatening the homeowners with knives.

The attackers, a man and woman, forced the back door of the property in Derby Road, Stanley, near Ilkeston, late on Sunday.

A 65-year-old man who lives at the house suffered facial injuries. His partner was unhurt.

Cash and jewellery were also taken during the raid, which happened at about 2315 GMT.

The offenders are thought to be white and in their 20s, and were wearing dark clothing.

Their masks were described as "homemade with eye holes".

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
