Off-roaders reminded of track closure n Kniveton

Police in Ashbourne are reminding people about a road closure after complaints of 4x4s and motorbikes using it illegally.

Madge Hill in Kniveton closed in April for carriageway repairs and will stay shut until September.

Motorists are advised to go along the B5035 Foxholes Lane, then onto Kniveton Road and back to Agnesmeadow Lane.

PCSO Kate Cleveley, of the Tissington Area Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said spot checks would be made.

She said: "I would encourage off-road riders and drivers to stick to the routes which are designated for their use and to respect the wishes of the local community."
