Body of man recovered from River Derwent near Derby

Investigations are under way after the body of a man was recovered from the River Derwent near Derby.

Police officers were called after a member of the public out walking their dog made the discovery just before 0700 GMT on Saturday.

The passer-by spotted the dead man in the water between Raynesway and Elvaston.

Police said inquiries were continuing to identify the man. No other details have been released.
