Trial date set for BBC weatherman Des Coleman

A trial date has been set for a BBC presenter accused of possessing an imitation firearm.

East Midlands Today weather presenter Des Coleman has denied two charges of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence in Buckinghamshire last May.

Mr Coleman, 45, from Swadlincote, Derbyshire, pleaded not guilty during an appearance at Huntingdon Crown Court on Wednesday.

The trial is due to begin on May 9.
