Derby police arrest man over Alvaston iron bar attack


Police investigating an attack on a man with an iron bar in Derby have made an arrest.

The 45-year-old victim was at home with two friends in Atherfield Walk, Alvaston, at 1950 GMT on Wednesday when three people went in through the unlocked front door.

The man was hit with the bar, punched and kicked and suffered facial and internal injuries.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
