Customer chases Heanor necklace robber

An armed robber was chased by a customer after stealing a necklace from a Derbyshire jewellers.

The necklace, worth more than £1,000, was taken from Cresta Gems in Heanor on Saturday afternoon when staff were threatened with a knife.

Another man in the shop at the time chased the robber and was joined by police officers who detained a suspect.

A 25-year-old man from the Isle of Wight is due to appear before Derby magistrates later charged with robbery.
