Man dies after being hit by car in Long Eaton

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in a Derbyshire town.

The man was struck by a Ford Focus on the A6005 Nottingham Road at about 2225 BST on Saturday, and died at the scene of the crash.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said he had not yet been formally identified.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, which happened close to the junction with Norfolk Road, is asked to contact the force.
