Pedestrian hit by taxi in Tintwistle 'seriously ill'

A pedestrian is seriously ill in hospital after being hit by a taxi while apparently walking in the road in Derbyshire.
The man suffered serious head injures when he was struck by the blue Skoda on Manchester Road in Tintwistle.
He was taken to Tameside General Hospital, where his condition is believed to be life-threatening.
Anyone who witnessed the accident, which happened at about 0045 BST, should contact Derbyshire Police.
The taxi was travelling from Tintwistle towards Hollingworth at the time of the crash. The injured man was wearing a red top, said the force.
