Power restored across Derbyshire following snow storm
Electricity has been fully restored across Derbyshire after snow affected power supplies, Western Power Distribution has said.
About 9,000 homes were left without power in Buxton, Chesterfield and Wirksworth on Wednesday, after 15-20cm (6-8 inches) of snow fell.
Emergency repair teams reconnected the remaining 1,500 homes overnight.
The supplier said the problem was caused by wet snow freezing on power lines as well as high winds.
The A57 Snake Pass in High Peak remains closed in both directions, between Ladybower reservoir and Royal Oak Inn, because of the snow.
BBC Weather's Anna Church said while conditions were expected to remain cold, no further snow was anticipated.
