Woman, 88, threatened with knife in Worksop home

A raider who held an 88-year-old woman at knifepoint at her Nottinghamshire home is being hunted by police.

The victim suffered a cut to her hand as she tried to fight of the man at the house in Worksop on Saturday.

Despite being injured the homeowner refused to hand over money during the break-in, at about 21:45 BST, and the raider left empty-handed.

Police described the man as white and wearing a grey hooded top, which was pulled over his face, and blue jeans.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Det Sergeant Rick Jones, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a horrific attack on a vulnerable, elderly woman in her own home."
