Man dies after Derbyshire car repair workshop fire

A 27-year-old man has died after a fire at a car repair workshop at a Derbyshire industrial estate.

The man, from South Normanton, was rescued from the burning building on the Meadow Lane industrial estate, in Alfreton, on Saturday afternoon.

He died later at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham. Two other men were treated for burns.

Derbyshire Police had advised residents living in the Lydford Road area to keep their windows closed.

A joint investigation between the police, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Health and Safety Executive will be carried to out to determine the cause of the fire.
