A yellow warning for snow is in place in Derbyshire with up to 5cm (2in) of snow expected to fall on Sunday.

Hazardous driving conditions have been reported on some major driving routes because of ice and snow.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has described some rural roads as "treacherous".

East Midlands Trains said it planned to operate a full timetable, although signalling problems had caused problems on some routes.

There were reports of hazardous driving conditions on the A57 at Snake Pass, between the A624 junction in Glossop and the A6101 junction in Sheffield.
