Derby County racist abuse appeal successful

A man has had his conviction for shouting racist abuse at a Derby County football match overturned.

Adam Smith, 35, of Merrill Way, Allenton, had denied abusing Derby's Nathan Tyson and Birmingham City striker Marlon King last year.

He was found guilty by Derby magistrates in February and given a three year football banning order.

At Derby Crown Court the conviction was quashed and the ban lifted.
