Pedestrian killed on Swadlincote road

A pedestrian died when he was struck by a car on a Derbyshire road.

Police officers went to the A514 William Nadin Way in Swadlincote, just before midnight on Tuesday.

The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries when he was hit by a Ford Mondeo.

Derbyshire Police have asked anyone who may have seen the crash to contact them, particularly a man and a woman in a car not involved in the collision but who attended the scene.
