A man armed with a knife threatened staff and stole cash and travellers' cheques from a travel agency in Derbyshire.

The raider struck at the Thomson store on Oxford Street in Ripley at about 09:45 BST.

He ordered staff to a room and made of with cash in seven currencies from the safe.

Police said the man may have been watching the shop waiting for the currency to arrive.

He is described as white, wearing a dark coloured thick hooded coat, which was zipped up, with jeans and a dark coloured hat.

The money taken was in sterling, Euros, US dollars, Croatian kuna, Turkish lira, UAE dirham and Jamaican dollars.
