A man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after one man was found dead and another seriously injured inside a flat.

The 23-year-old was arrested early on Thursday morning at the property in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, where police found the body of Paul Averil, 30.

The injured man, 23, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition with suspected stab wounds.

The arrested man was due to appear at Derby Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Earlier, police said there were no links between the alleged attacks and an armed robbery at the nearby One Stop shop the same morning.
