Man's body found on Torquay church roof

Police have launched an investigation after a man's body was found on the roof of a Devon church.

The body of John Hazelwood, 23, was found on the flat roof at St John's Church in Montpellier Road, Torquay, at about 1100 BST on 23 July.

Police said they were treating the death of Mr Hazelwood - who had not been seen for nearly a month - as "unexplained", but not as suspicious.

Police have urged anyone with information to contact them.

Mr Hazelwood had not been since 24 June when he was believed to be drinking in Torquay, while Denmark played Japan and Cameroon played Holland in the World Cup finals.
