A housing scheme that was held up by the recession has secured funding and is ready to go ahead, developers say.
Nearly 500 homes are planned for the site of Plymouth's old Royal Navy Maritime Headquarters at Mount Wise.
The £120m scheme on the 23-acre site also includes a hotel, shops and office space, developers Mount Wise Ltd said.
The planned accommodation of 469 properties will range from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom family homes. It should take four years to develop.
The scheme also plans to make use of underground bunkers that were built at the former headquarters as a command centre in World War II.
A secure data centre is to be created for businesses to store valuable information and documents in.
