Driver charged over Plymouth pedestrian crossing death

A man has been charged with causing the death of an elderly woman in Devon.

Hazel Edgerton, 88, of Lower Compton, Plymouth, was killed on a pedestrian crossing in the city centre in February.

Local lorry driver Shaun Chaffe was charged with causing death by inconsiderate driving.

The 43-year-old of Anson Place, St Judes, Plymouth has been released on bail and will appear before Plymouth Magistrates' Court on 26 August.
