Man, 67, critical after assault in Exeter

A man is critically ill after an assault in Exeter.

The 67-year-old man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after the incident in Sidwell Street at 1905 BST on Saturday.

He is in a critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital, police said.

Two men from Exeter, a 30-year-old and a 37-year-old, were arrested and released on police bail.
