Torbay lifeboat crew rescue rock slip woman from sea

A woman has been taken to hospital after slipping on rocks and falling into the sea in Devon.

Brixham Coastguard said the alarm was raised at about 0800 BST when the woman, believed to be in her 60s, fell as she walked at Shoalstone, Torbay.

The crew of the Torbay RNLI inshore lifeboat pulled her from the water and brought her ashore.

The woman had swallowed sea water and was showing signs of hypothermia She was taken to Torbay Hospital.

Her condition is not known, however a Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesman said it was not thought to be serious.
