Man arrested after vehicle search on M5 in Devon

A man has been arrested in Devon on suspicion of money laundering and possessing an offence weapon after his car was searched.

The 43-year-old's vehicle was stopped on the M5 near Cullompton at about 1630 BST on Thursday.

Police believed the car was being used to supply and distribute drugs in Cornwall and searched it, uncovering £8,800 and a can of pepper spray.

The man was arrested and released on bail until 6 January.
