Motorcycle victim killed in A396 Bampton crash

A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Devon.
Emergency services were called to the A396 at Bampton just after 1600 BST following the collision between a motorbike and a car.
Despite resuscitation attempts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The road at Cove Cross has been closed for accident investigations to be carried out and diversions have been put in place.
Insp Andy Oliver from Devon and Cornwall Police paid tribute to a member of the public who took instructions over a mobile phone from an ambulance technician to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
In a separate incident, another motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a collision with a car and a van on the A3124 near Winkleigh, Devon.
He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital's intensive care unit with chest and head injuries. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
