Plymouth driver quizzed over woman's death

A driver has been arrested after a 65-year-old pedestrian died when she was knocked down in Plymouth.

The woman, from the Manchester area, was hit by a car in Durnford Street, Stonehouse on Saturday afternoon.

She was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious injuries, but died later.

A 75-year-old man from Stonehouse was arrested for dangerous driving and failing to stop at a collision. Police released him on bail until 31 January.
