Cars crash on black ice in Devon

A main road was partially blocked after two car accidents on black ice at Okehampton in Devon.

There were no reports of injuries following the collisions on the A30 which has now re-opened.

Drivers are being warned of hazardous driving conditions as temperatures fall below freezing on Sunday night.

A gritter driver was airlifted to hospital with serious leg injuries on Saturday after his vehicle skidded on black ice in north Devon.

Hazardous driving conditions were being reported by the BBC Travel News website because of ice.

Forecasters are predicting more ice on Sunday night with temperatures expected to drop to -4C.
