Man discovered shot at house in Plymouth

A man has been found with gunshot wounds at a house in Plymouth, police have said.

The man in his 50s was discovered at a property in the Derriford area at about 1745 GMT on Wednesday.

He has undergone surgery for a shoulder wound and is said to be in a stable condition in nearby Derriford Hospital.

Police said the man would remain in hospital for a few days. An investigation is being conducted at the property.

Det Insp Costa Nassaris, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "Scenes of crime officers have been to the scene to gather any forensic evidence and a number of people have already been spoken to.

"This was a rare incident for Plymouth and we believe this was an isolated incident."
