A man who was found with shotgun wounds in Plymouth earlier this month is still in hospital and suffered life-changing injuries, police say.

The 56-year-old was found wounded at a house in Glade Close in the Derriford area of the city on Wednesday 9 December.

He underwent a lengthy operation last week.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is in police custody.

Devon and Cornwall Police said of the victim's progress: "Medical staff are cautiously optimistic about his condition, although it should be said he has suffered life-changing injuries."
