The bodies of two men and a quantity of blue tablets have been found at a flat in Torquay.
Police were called to a flat in Babbacombe Road at about 2230 GMT on Thursday where the bodies of the men in their 20s and 30s were found.
Paramedics attempted resuscitation, but both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.
Police said they were treating the deaths as 'unexplained' and the tablets were being sent for toxic analysis.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We know that illegal drugs are taken, perhaps more so at this time of the year, but need to stress that people simply do not know what they are taking.
"People that produce these drugs make mistakes with their strength.
"There is no way to guarantee that the potency of these drugs will not be excessively high, and this can lead to tragic consequences."
