Drugs warning after men die in Torquay

  • Published

Police have urged anyone taking drugs in the Torquay area to be "very careful" following the "very unusual" deaths of two men in the town.

The bodies of the men in their 20s and 30s were found in a flat in Babbacombe alongside a quantity of blue tablets on 23 December.

Attempts to resuscitate both men were unsuccessful.

The tablets have been sent for toxic analysis and post-mortem examinations are due to take place later this week.

Acting Det Insp Chris Yarwood, from Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "It is very unusual to have two deaths together like this.

"For this reason we would urge anyone taking drugs... to be very careful about the mix of chemical substances they are using."
