Plymouth youth in court over post office crossbow raid

A 19-year-old youth has appeared in court in connection with an armed robbery on a post office.

Lewis Wilde of Channel Park Avenue, Efford, is charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Cash and tobacco were stolen from a post office in the Efford area of Plymouth on Wednesday by two men - one armed with a crossbow.

Mr Wilde was remanded in custody to appear before Plymouth Crown Court on 18 January.

Police said a 23-year-old man arrested on Thursday has been released without charge.
