Devon hunt for dog after man attacked

Police are hunting for a dog that bit a man on the face in Plymouth.

The 23-year-old man needed hospital treatment for injuries to his nose and side of his face after being attacked in Kinnaird Crescent on Monday night.

A police spokesman said: "We are extremely concerned about this incident and are keen to trace the dog."

The dog is described as a black and white Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog, with a dark collar, possibly a black leather one.

It is not clear if the owner of the dog was around at the time, said police.

The man was treated for his injuries at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
