Exeter Pride rainbow parade attracts hundreds

Hundreds of people have gathered in Exeter to take part in the Devon city's third annual Price event.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter started off the celebrations and led a "rainbow parade" through the city's streets.

Exeter Pride is one of the biggest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender celebrations in the South West.

The parade ended in Gandy Street, where free events and activities were set up, including youth information and advice, dance and music workshops.

Debates about the Equality Bill and homophobia in sport were also held in the city.

The 2011 Pride events were organised by Exeter LGBT, which includes representatives from Devon County Council, the University of Exeter and Devon and Cornwall Police.
