Fire crews tackle Dartmoor blaze

Firefighters have been tackling a large grass fire on Dartmoor.

Appliances from Chagford, Bovey Tracey, Princetown and Tavistock were called to the fire about one mile west of the Fernworthy Reservoir.

A police helicopter helped direct firefighting crews to the main area of the fire which is about 1,500m long.

The helicopter crew also took a fireman to the remote location, allowing him to track the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
